Smartphones evolve and develop at an unbelievable pace. Manufacturers are forced to stay ahead of the curve or get lost in the shuffle. Nokia has released their new smartphone, the N8, and erased any thoughts of the company being shoved aside. The N8 has not only avoided being placed at the back of the pack, it is one of the leading lights in the industry. The handset combines the latest in functionality and entertainment abilities, making for an experience like no other.

Contemporary smartphones are much more than telephones. They are now mini computers, televisions, and daily planners. Because of their versatility, it is necessary for the handsets to possess a screen that presents the best possible view to the user. The Nokia N8 succeeds admirably in this regard with a 3.5-inch OLED touch screen display. It supports more than 16 million colors, creating wallpaper, picture, video, and widget images more vibrant than almost all other phones on the market. Included with the N8 is a 12-megapixel camera which will please even the most demanding photographer with capabilities not unlike the most expensive point-and-click cameras. The N8 contains 16 GB of installed storage which can be expanded to 48 GB by way of a micro SD card. Being caught without enough memory to capture the perfect photograph is not an issue.

Videos are sharp and clear on the Nokia N8 with the help of 720p, HD recording. An expansive editing suite is included so that the user can do whatever he needs to add a professional touch to his movies. Effective playback controls are a necessary aspect of any recording equipment. On the large touch screen, the N8’s controls handle playback more capably than most.

The N8 furthers the popular idea that there is an app for that. On Nokia’s new handset, there is a dedicated WebTV application on which one may view all sorts of news and entertainment programs. Viewing never sounded so good as on the Dolby Digital Plus surround sound. If you want to experience the programs on something a little more ambitious than a cell phone, the N8 may be connected to a home theater system for the ultimate audio and video.

Entertainment is handled beautifully by the Nokia N8, and practicality is as well. Operating on the Symbian^3 platform, the N8 presents new features like multi-touch for functions such as pinch-to-zoom. Walk and talk navigation is also available on the handset which can be used with free OVI Maps to keep you on track. The maps are free forever and are supported in over 70 countries which makes for peace of mind while traveling away from home.

The Nokia N8 has made quite an impression on the smartphone field. The phone has set the bar quite high for other manufacturers and models. The N8 is a success story with which more and more consumers are becoming familiar.

Research in Motion created one of the most popular smartphones when they designed the Blackberry. The businesslike handset quickly became renowned for its email capabilities and innovations. In order to keep the Blackberry fresh and at the front of the smartphone field, RIM developed the Blackberry Bold, a device that takes what came before and improves upon it.

The most noticeable update, and easily the device’s most striking is the 2.6-inch diagonal screen. This is slightly bigger than the one on the Curve. Where one really notices the screen differential is that the Bold offers a screen that is 2.25 inches wide, almost a full inch wider than the Curve’s. Most other Blackberry models can’t keep up with the Bold’s clarity, as it has a 480 x 320p resolution and has made the icons larger, fully utilizing the more robust screen.

Speaking of UI, the Bold operates on BlackBerry OS 4.6. Wallpaper can be set for the home screen, and the default theme is the Precision Zen. This allows for the display of six icons along the bottom of the screen in dock style. The user may also choose Dimension Zen, which places color only in the icon that is selected. Because the icons are larger, only three rows of icons appear instead of four, so users will have to scroll a bit more than on other models. For those who are looking to kill some time, they will notice the Games folder that contains Sudoku and solitaire as well as two online games that allow you to go head to head with others.

RIM has decided to pretty much stand pat on emailing processes. Customers already like the way older Blackberry devices deal with email, so RIM has just tweaked things a bit. The way emailing is done has remained the same, but now there is the ability to see pictures in message and full HTML. Attachment viewing has also been added, and the text is more easily read on the bigger screen, but not much more has changed.

The Blackberry Bold has taken a proven performer and freshened things up a bit. RIM has made some adjustments with the Bold in order to stay relevant, but longtime users as well as those new to Blackberry will appreciate the Bold.

In the fast-paced world of smartphones, these handheld powerhouses seemingly face changes on a daily basis. In order to remain relevant, manufacturers must stay competitively appealing and contemporary. The trick for manufacturers is not always to perform a complete overhaul of a certain line of phones, but sometimes it is to tweak and refine existing, already excellent phones. This is exactly what Research in Motion did with the Blackberry Curve 2.

An update to the Curve 8520, the Blackberry Curve 2 maintains the same shell as its predecessor. The only change in looks is the somewhat smooth, checkered pattern that is now found on the back cover. That, and the Curve 2 is a touch thinner than previous Curves, having slimmed down from to 0.6” thick to 0.5” thick. Users familiar with the Bold will find the keyboard setup instantly recognizable because it is nearly identical. The QWERTY keyboard is smallish, but it is still better than most other available models, so it should not be an issue. Volume buttons are found on the right side of the phone, which is where the camera shutter is located. As usual with Blackberries, the camera lens itself is on the back of the handset. SIM and microSD card slots are under the battery cover, but it is not necessary to take out the battery to access them.

Because the Blackberry Curve 2 is a GSM, quad band smartphone, it can be used worldwide wherever GSM is found. The speakerphone on the Curve 2 is nice, but one of its strongest features is UMA calling. UMA calling is the type of calling done on WiFi networks. A number of carriers let the customer set the Curve 2 to automatically utilize UMA service in WiFi areas. When the WiFi signal fades, the device transitions back to GSM seamlessly. Internet browsing is accomplished on the Curve 2 by means of its WiFi 802.11 b/g connection. Blackberry OS 4.6 powers the smartphone, the same as on the Bold. The Curve 2, however, seems to load web pages better. A quick 512 MHz Xscale CPU drives the Curve 2, erasing any questions of speed. Push email is now Blackberry’s claim to fame, and the Curve 2 offers BES and BIS services. Users can therefore choose to let the company use Blackberry servers or let their carriers do so.

Rather than completely change the look and operation of past Blackberry phones, RIM took the Curve 2 as its opportunity to update already successful phones. The Curve 2 builds on what works and what users like. Users will be pleased with the next step in the evolution of Blackberry handsets.

HTC made its presence felt with the highly regarded smartphone the Legend. Following up the success of that device, HTC has released its successor known as the Desire. The company hopes that the continuation of an already impressive phone will leave the competition behind. The Desire bears significant resemblance to the Nexus One, but it is not a direct clone, nor is it an inferior piece.

The Desire separates itself right out of the box with a greater usability thanks to the inclusion of HTC Sense. It is ever so slightly larger than the Nexus One, measuring 119 x 60 x 11.9mm. This is still obviously not huge by any means, and offers an adequate housing for the roomy 3.7-inch, OLED capacitive screen. An AMOLED display delivers 800 x 480 pixel resolution, placing it at the top of the Android field.

A display this impressive needs to be paired with a camera that is also of high quality. Although it may not blow the doors off the joint, the 5-megapixel camera from the Legend is brought to the Desire. Maybe not exactly completely complementary to the display, the camera still offers an aspect ratio of 5:3 on its still images which is a nice, wide picture. The video recorder on the Desire shoots in 800 x 480p resolution, an improvement over the Legend and the Nexus One. In low light, the Desire’s recorder does reduce frame rate, but this is in order to extend exposure time to compensate for relatively dark settings.

As previously mentioned, on top of Android 2.1, HTC has placed its own Sense UI on the Desire. Users can really see what the display is capable of with features such as the whole screen weather effects. Sense also ups the number of homescreens from the usual five found on many Android phones to seven. Live View is another new feature that takes the seven panels and displays them in thumbnail format. Any smartphone worth its salt will offer a vast array of applications and allow for extensive multitasking. Desire accomplishes this better than almost all other models with a whopping 576MB of RAM. This is up to, if not beyond, the standards of most consumers. Desire also brings Friend View to the table. This feature, pretty much the answer to Motoblur, takes updates from Facebook, Flickr, and Twitter and places them in a single timeline.

Made up of the best aspects of its predecessor, the HTC Desire has polished and updated all that is good about the Legend. By using what works and what customer’s like, HTC has taken the next logical step with its Android program. The Desire is a testament to the company’s success.

Newest cell phones that are about to come out on the market or that are already out on the market are jammed packed full of features and benefits, some you will use and some are just pure absurd. The largest part of the newest cell phones are now some type of QWERTY smartphone and this is great if you are into texting. But what do the newest cell phones such as the Baby iPhone and other smartphones have to offer you this year and beyond?

Here’s a simple feature that many of the newest cell phones are now coming with; GPS. That’s right, you no longer have to own a costly GPS unit and be bothered about where you want to hide it when you are not in your vehicle, as many of today’s newest cell phones come equipped with a GPS feature. All you have to do to take advantage of this is insert the address where you are wanting to go and the newest cell phones will get you there in turn by turn style; plus you get to hear a really neat voice.

What if you want things that normally only come with an iPhone, but you don’t want all that bulk? Well never fear because there are now what are known as “Baby iPhones” among the newest cell phones and these mini versions of the classic can do more or less everything that their big brother can only they do it in a much smaller and compact package. The end result is you enjoying one of the newest cell phones there is without having to worry about how big it is.

Of course all of the newest cell phones also serve as you gateway to going online when you have to be away from your computer. While this used to mean that you would have to compromise surf ability, with the newest cell phones on the market today, you can be on the web with the same speed as your home PC. Plus with the loads of Apps that the newest cell phones allow you to put in, getting to your favorite websites is often as easy as just a push or two on the QWERTY smartphone screen.

Technology is surely a wonderful thing, so take in all that the newest cell phones have to offer. Just be sure not to spend too much when you are buying one of the newest cell phones that are out because today’s newest cell phone is tomorrow’s fossil. Machinery is always evolving and so too will the wave of newest cell phones; what will your newest cell phone offer you? There is only one to find out, get out there a get one of the newest cell phones, just make sure that you don’t go broke in the process.

The wonders of a mobile phone used to revolve around the fact that one might have a conversation with one other without the constraints of location, perimeter and dangling cables. With the appearance of text messaging, we progressed into an period of communicating with out visible contact. We had been freed of time constraints as we responded as and when we wished to. There was no longer the need to heed to a clamoring phone. Image messaging advanced us a step further as we now transmitted still and shifting pictures with sound alongside our text messages. To enjoy this functionality, comes the inevitable query on how do I arrange MMS on my mobile. There lies the rub.

To know more about Mobile Rates in Pakistan and Funny Urdu Hindi sms Messages visit these hyperlinks.Prior to getting all hot and flustered on this matter, it is best to make clear that owning a mobile phone which supports MMS (Multimedia Messaging Service) is first and foremost vital. Protected to say, most present generation telephones assist this characteristic with the exception of a number of museum pieces nonetheless in use. MMS also runs over GPRS (General Packet Radio Service), a protocol used for data transmission over a cellular network. In layman’s terms, it’s a must to speak the widespread language, which is GPRS, to be able to communicate with others via MMS. Shifting alongside, chances are you’ll have to subscribe to a MMS plan together with your present cellular operator. This again is where confusion abounds as cell operators seem to relish in the pleasure of offering plans of perplexing combinations. Relying on your kind and volume of usage, finances and cellphone habits, there’s probably a plan to suit your requirements. Alternatively, pay as you utilize which can sometimes be extra expensive but less of a hassle.

How do I arrange MMS on my mobile can turn into a loaded query as there are as many methods as there are cell phones and operators. However, they pretty much abide by the same principles. Go to the messaging option and select the settings for multimedia messaging. Select a profile for MMS and enter relevant particulars for gateway and message servers, username and password and whatever else as stated by your cellular operator. Once carried out, check the MMS functionality in your mobile. If you happen to meet any problems, seek help from your operator. To avoid wasting yourself the trouble, paying a visit to your cell operator’s service center could also be a greater option as their staff configure and check your cell’s MMS on the spot.

As a frequent traveler, it is strongly recommended you subscribe to a MMS plan which is friendly to your funds and lets you get pleasure from MMS without having to tweak settings as you bounce between countries and operators. Since MMS setting details entered into your cellular are exclusive when it comes to IP addresses, URLs, usernames and passwords, these must be unique worldwide. Hence, there must be no conflicts thus making certain smooth utilization of MMS.

Compared to Motorola’s release of the Droid in the United States, the release of the Milestone, which was literally the exact same handset, in the UK had disappointing results. As a result, the company went back to the drawing board and have now released the Motorola Milestone XT720, which could more or less be considered as a Milestone 2. Motorola apparently took all of the criticism seriously, as the company has addressed all of the Milestone’s major shortfalls with the new XT720, including a new 8 megapixel camera, functional Motoblur improvements, a 720 MHZ processor, and keyboard elimination.

The redesign of the device has given it a more masculine appearance likely to appealing to men more than women as it calls to mind a digital camera more than a conventional phone handset. The standard menu, search, home and back buttons are below the display in the usual position found in the majority of Android handsets. The 8-megapixel camera, which is actually a suitable substitute for an economical digital camera, is a cut above the camera found in most phones.

The XT720 comes with Android 2.1 – a reliable operating system in itself, but nowhere near as powerful as devices like the HTC Desire or the Google Nexus One (which both come with a more powerful processor). Motorola realizes the shortfall and has made efforts to decrease the device’s overall loading and lag times. The XT720 comes with an integrated 512 MB of memory, with a microSD card slot capable of adding an additional 8 GB of external memory. The WVGA capacitive touch screen display measures 3.7 inches and offers 480 x 854 resolution. The overall measurements are 60.9mm x 115.95mm x 10.9mm, with a weight of 160 grams.

While quoted as providing a maximum 13 day standby time and up to 4.5 hours of talk time from the 1390 mAh battery, this is an operating system needing frequent recharging as experienced Android users have found. The phone can be conveniently charged while you are at your desk through use of the available optional Multimedia Station. The standard multimedia formats supported are MP3, AMR, MPEG4, AAC, WMA and ACC files. The Milestone XT720 also sports an FM radio and a 3.5mm audio socket.

There is no doubt that the Motorola Milestone XT720 is easily beat out by other smartphones like the HTC Desire or the Google Nexus One. Would the Motorola Milestone XT720 be the best option for you? The answer really relies on monetary considerations. If you are looking for a budget-minded smartphone that still packs many great features, the XT720 should be a serious contender for your next smartphone purchase.

Now Try – Motorola Milestone XT720 Deals

Though Sony Ericsson did not enter the smartphone market from a position of strength or reverence, they have quickly turned the tables by releasing a line of Android phones that integrates impressive design with top notch function. The Sony Ericsson Xperia X10 was the first of the Android releases that established their rightful place in the market, which was followed by two miniature versions – the X10 Mini and the X10 Mini Pro, both of which owned their rightful place in the Android market. Sony Ericsson is now filling the gap that existed between the super powerful full size X10 and the Mini versions with the release of their new Xperia X8, though its features and size are more similar to the X10.

One of the challenges Sony Ericsson tried to meet was making a phone that was neither too big or too small. The X10 was a little large for some folks, while the X10 mini models were way too small. The Xperia X8 features a nice 3 inch touchscreen with a display featuring up to 16 million colors. And those colors will pop thanks to the 320×480 pixel resolution. It is not a heavyweight, weighing in at just over 100 grams. And Sony Ericsson did not stop there! They integrated their Timeline UI to work symbiotically with their Android 1.6 operating system so you can access all of your emails, social networking sites and agendas with a tap of your finger.

A powerful 600 MHz processor allows the Xperia X8 to easily handle a huge range of demanding applications. The phone’s internal memory of 128 MB can be increased effortlessly with the use of Micro SD memory cards. Cards up to 16MB are supported. As users have come to expect from Sony Ericsson Android phones, the Xperia X8 comes with a wide range of apps handily pre-installed, such as a YouTube video app, voice application Google Talk, Gmail, Google Maps and Facebook for Android.

The X8 gives the user a variety of connectivity options to help make sure the user is never without connectivity while on the go. The device can either use quad band or dual band HSDPA, WiFi 802.11 b/g, Bluetooth with A2DP, EDGE, or Class 10 GPRS. A handy micro USB connector is also included on the device.

The phone is also a multi-function media player, with an included stereo FM radio, and multiple format support for both videos and music. The 3.5mm audio input ensures that you can list to your favorite music or movies on your own discreet headphones. The 3.2 Megapixel camera has full video recording capabilities as well as a GPS utility that allows you to geo-tag your images with details about the place you took them.

Nokia has truly stepped up to the mark with their new Nokia N8 touchscreen phone, coming with, amongst other things, an exciting and innovative design. Stepping away from the customary black box typically seen with touchscreen phones, Nokia designed the N8 with a bit of ergonomic flair to stand out next to its counterparts – in addition to voiding the black color option (though a dark gray version is available). More impressively, Nokia has finally delivered a phone with a 12 megapixel camera and coupled it with the all new Symbian^3 operating system.

Nokia’s target market for the N8 will not be let down by the impressive 3.5″ 360 x 640 pixel OLED touchscreen display. While higher end touchscreen phones sport an 800 pixel screen, they also sport a higher price tag, like the HTC Desire. For consumers searching for a mid-line touchscreen phone, they will certainly get bang for their buck.

With the 12 megapixel camera, you can find Carl Zeiss optics, a Xenon flash, and the ability to get 720p HD video recorded onto the phone. What’s more, the sensor on the N8 can beat many high end digital cameras, which is another fantastic feature – besides, the sensor and the optics far outweigh the megapixels when it comes to quality pictures.

The Nokia N8 has a range of multimedia playback options. In addition to the FM radio, it also comes equipped with an FM transmitter. Without the use of Bluetooth or wired cables, the transmitter allows the user to play their audio connection back via FM radio, where law permits its use. In addition the N8 supports MP3, WMA, AMR, and AAC audio formats, along with Flash, H.264, MPEG4, and Real video formats.

For on board memory the N8 has a great 16GB, which is more than adequate for the average user, however if you want to increase the size you can add a micoSD card of up to 32GB. This is ideal if you want to take advantage of the HD recording and make plenty of home movies, or perhaps you want to watch films when you are out on the go. The N8 is one of the few phones that supports 802.11n protocol. It also has WiFi and is 3.5G, supporting all major UMTS bands. You can get a maximum of 10.2 Mbps download speed and an upload speed of 2.0 Mbps on HSDPA.

When it comes to phones hardware is only 50% of the issue, the software also matters a large amount, and with the N8 you will have the new Symbian^3 OS. This is the first phone to have this OS which boasts multi touch touchscreen support, kinetic scrolling, 3D and 2D graphics acceleration, pinch-to-zoom, plenty of customization and multiple homescreens.
